About the role
We’re hiring an Editorial Content Lead to elevate the quality, originality, and impact of everything we publish. This is a role for an editor and team leader who believes the best content is built on original thinking, real expertise, and a clear point of view — not volume for its own sake.
You’ll own our editorial standards end to end and lead a small team of writers and editors to produce work that businesses genuinely value: sharp, well-reasoned, and worth someone’s time. Sitting within the marketing team, you’ll shape how Mekari shows up as a credible, authoritative voice for the audiences we serve, while making sure our content earns its place with readers and drives meaningful results for the business.
What you’ll do
- Own the editorial vision and standards. Define our editorial point of view, voice, and quality bar. Develop and maintain the editorial guidelines and style standards that keep everything we publish consistent, credible, and distinctive across formats and channels.
- Lead thought leadership and original content. Commission, shape, and edit original articles, expert perspectives, bylined pieces, and long-form content. Turn subject-matter expertise — from internal experts and external contributors — into content people want to read, trust, and share.
- Manage and grow the editorial team. Lead a team of writers and editors: set direction, assign and review work, edit to a high standard, and coach the team to keep raising their craft. Build a healthy, high-output editorial operation.
- Own the editorial calendar and workflow. Plan and manage a content roadmap and calendar that balances timeliness, quality, and business priorities. Run an efficient process from idea to commissioning to publish, keeping work on schedule without compromising the bar.
- Collaborate across marketing and the business. Partner with colleagues across marketing, product, and other teams to source insight, align content with broader goals, and ensure editorial output is consistent and complementary — never duplicative.
- Drive reach and measurable impact. Work with SEO and distribution partners so strong content gets discovered by the right readers. Use analytics and audience feedback to understand what resonates, refine the calendar, and continuously improve performance — while protecting editorial quality.
- Stay ahead of the field. Track industry trends, audience needs, and best practices in content and editorial, and bring fresh formats and ideas into how we work.
What success looks like
In your first six to twelve months, you’ll have established a clear editorial point of view and standards the team operates by, built a reliable pipeline of original, high-quality content shipping on a predictable cadence, and grown a team producing work that measurably strengthens Mekari’s authority with its audiences. Success shows up as engaged, growing readership; content the wider business is proud to share; and a demonstrable link between editorial quality and marketing outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Experience. Proven experience leading editorial or content teams — in B2B, media, publishing, technology, or a related field — including a track record of managing writers and editors. A strong portfolio of published work that demonstrates editorial range and quality.
- Editorial judgment. Excellent editorial instincts and the ability to tell the difference between content that merely informs and content that stands out. High standards, and the discipline to hold them under pressure to publish more, faster.
- Hands-on craft. Exceptional writing and editing skills. You can take a rough idea, brief, or expert interview and shape it into a sharp, engaging, well-structured piece.
- Leadership. Experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team, plus the ability to coordinate smoothly across departments and stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness. A clear understanding of how editorial content supports broader marketing and business goals, and comfort using data to inform decisions.
- Market fluency. Familiarity with the Indonesian business landscape and the ability to write and edit credibly for professional audiences in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Nice to have
Experience producing original research or data-led content; working knowledge of SEO and content distribution best practices; familiarity with content and analytics tools; experience with additional formats such as video, podcast, or newsletters; and an established network of expert or bylined contributors.
