General Responsibility

  • Lead and facilitate high-visibility, cross-company initiatives, earning trust from executives to prioritize and drive initiatives impacting multiple features and departments.

  • Mentor and guide less experienced Product Managers.

  • Drive successful go-to-market strategies for complex features and products.

  • Own not just outputs but also outcomes related to the product area.

  • Proactively influence the roadmap and strategy of the broader organization (e.g., other PM teams, Sales, Business, and Marketing).

Scope

  • Own an area spanning multiple product areas.

  • Set and consistently achieve high outcomes-oriented goals for the team and the broader organization.

  • Successfully ship initiatives that set new standards for quality.

  • Proactively guide teams to deliver on time despite significant challenges.

  • Independently resolve issues of most shades of complexity within their scope.

  • Act as a customer expert, engaging with customers using their product area and beyond to gather deeper insights.

  • Be recognized internally as an expert in customer needs for their product area.

  • Use customer insights to effectively generate maximum possible value for the product area.

  • Proactively drive user research projects using qualitative (e.g., interviews) and/or quantitative (e.g., surveys) methods with minimal guidance.

  • Partner effectively with product leaders to define problems to understand and validate decision-making.

  • Consistently incorporate customer insights into problem and solution definitions.

Problem-Solving Skills

  • Articulate problem statements, including complex ones, with exceptional clarity.

  • Proactively leverage the team’s capabilities to synthesize inputs into problems.

  • Continuously evolve the understanding of the problem.

Go-To-Market

  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new features and products.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Support) to ensure successful launches.

  • Define target audiences and develop messaging and positioning.

  • Track and analyze launch performance, making adjustments as needed.

Managing People

  • Mentor and develop junior Product Managers.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.

  • Identify training and development needs for the team.
